Additional Traffic Management Arrangements as of 10 May 2021
Please find below a summary of additional traffic management arrangements to accommodate site investigations works and utility diversions outside the main area of works.

LEITH WALK
Leith Walk between Arthur Street and Iona Street - Movement of Pedestrian Crossing
The crossing point on Leith Walk between Arthur Street and Iona Street will be moving approximately 100 yards south on Wednesday 19 May. This move allows us to progress with the track works on Leith Walk.
Leith Wak at McDonald Road - Footpath Changes
There will be minor adjustments to the fence line on Leith Walk at McDonald Road from Tuesday 11 May 2021 for approximately twp weeks to accommodate utility works. Pedestrian diversion signage will be in place

Leith Walk - Movement of Crossing Point
The crossing point between Jameson Place and Lorne Street will be moving south back its previous position on Monday 17 May, this is to accommodate track works on Leith Walk.
Leith Walk at Arthur Street - Footpath/Cycle Way Adjustments
There will be minor adjustments to the fence line on Leith Walk at Arthur Street from Monday 26 April 2021 for approximately 3 weeks. This is to accommodate duct installation works in the footpath.
Leith Walk - Cycleway Closure
To progress the full length of the permanent cycleway from Annandale Street to Foot of the Walk, works will begin on further sections on the west side of Leith Walk from 24 May 2021. These works will require the closure of the cycleway for the full length of Leith Walk.

Road Closure – Springfield Street / Road Opening – Stead’s Place
Access and egress to Springfield Street from Leith Walk will be closed from Tuesday 26 January. Traffic will be diverted via Stead’s Place which will be opened to facilitate the closure.
Leith Walk at Jane Street - Footpath Changes
There will be minor adjustments to the fence line on Leith Walk at Jane Street from Monday 26 April 2021 for approximately 7 weeks to accommodate utility works on the footpath. Directional signage will be in place to facilitate.
Manderston Street – Temporary Road Closure
Due to the complexity of the 500mm diameter gas diversion works on Manderston Street / Leith Walk the Road Closure on Manderston Street has been extended until May 2021. Localised diversions and parking restriction will be in place with pedestrian access being maintained at all times.
Croall Place – Adjustments to Footpath
In order to progress the works and install the new drainage system the reduction of the footpath width and closure on the bi-directional cycleway at Croall Place between McDonald Road and the large digital advertising screen on Leith Walk will remain in place.
FOOT OF THE WALK TO NEWHAVEN
Baltic Street Junction – Temporary Traffic Lights
The carriage way at Bernard / Baltic Street junction will be reduced to one lane traffic, controlled by temporary traffic lights. This will be in place from Wednesday 17 March for approximately 12 weeks.
Lindsay Road - Traffic Management Adjustments
Traffic managements arrangements were adjusted on Monday 29 March to facilitate works on the south side of Lindsay Road. As these works are almost complete, from week commening 24 May the traffic management arrangements will flip back to the north side of Lindsay Road to allow the continuation of main infrastructure works.
Traffic Management Adjustments at Constitution Street/Ocean Way junction with Tower Street
We will be revising the current traffic management arrangements at the Constitution Street/Ocean Way junction with Tower Street to include an additional traffic light head at Constitution Place, changing the current 3-way set up to 4-way. This will be in place from Monday 29 March 2021 to further progress the works in this area.
Mitchell Street – Road Closure
We will be closing vehicle access to Maritime Lane from Mitchell Street on Wednesday 7 April. This closure is to progress track works across the junction and is expected for up to 10 weeks. A temporary pedestrian walkway connecting both sides of the street between Queen Charlotte Street and Mitchell Street / Maritime Lane has been installed and will be in place to facilitate the ongoing works.
Foot of the Walk to Laurie Street – Tram Stop Works
On Tuesday 6 April works will commence to construct the tram stop between the Foot of the Walk / Laurie Street. These works require closure to the east side of the foot way. Local diversions remain in place for pedestrians with localised access to businesses in place.
Constitution Street – Changes to Footpaths
From Friday 7 May there will be new arrangements for pedestrians between Baltic Street and Constitution Place. These arrangements are expected to be in place for up to 12 weeks. Access to affected business will be maintained at all times.
Tower Street – Parking Restrictions and Temporary Lights
As restrictions begin to ease and traffic increases around the city, we are now required to reinstate parking restrictions on the south side of Tower Street. The temporary traffic lights will also be switched back on at the junction of The Shore/Tower Street. These will be in place from Monday 10 May. As with all temporary arrangements attached to the project we will assess, monitor and makes changes where possible.
Ocean Drive - Footpath Closure
From Monday 24 May the footpath will close on Ocean Drive, this is to allow structural works on Victoria Bridge. Diversions will be in place for all pedestrians/cyclists. These arrangements are expected to be in place for up to 20 weeks.

OTHER AREAS
Due to the complexity of the gas diversion works on Leith Walk as part of the project, there will be a requirement to install 4-way temporary traffic lights on Easter Road (including Academy Street and Tesco’s car park entrance) and 3-way temporary traffic lights on Bonnington Road at the Tennant Street junction. These will be in place from Monday 10 May 2021 for approximately ten days, localised parking will be restricted to accommodate the works and journey times in and around these areas may be increased as a result. Further parking restrictions will also be required on Gordon Street near the junction with Easter Road for the same duration.
