Intercultural Youth

Intercultural Youth Scotland's Mental Health Service offers culturally informed counselling and mentoring with a team of therapists who understand how racism affects mental health and have expertise around racial trauma. If you are aged between 12-25 and identify as a Black person or a Person of Colour, you or a trusted adult can self-refer by filling in our quick form here: .
Suitable for: Tailored compassionate support for young people living anywhere in Scotland, aged between 12 to 25, who identify as a Black Person or a Person of Colour, with an anti-racist approach to care.

Individual and group work
Youth work organisations in North West Edinburgh will link up with your school and can offer you either individual support or support as part of a group. You could meet a youth worker in an accessible, safe and supportive place, and as you get to know them you might want to share your problems, worries and things that are going on in your life. This can help you to make sense of your emotions and support your wellbeing.
Alternatively, you might want to join a local group where together you can learn about ways to look after your mental health and wellbeing. You will learn ways to manage your feelings, deal with stress, build on your skills and increase confidence and resilience.

Young Carer Services in Edinburgh
There are an estimated 29,000 young carers in Scotland. Being a young carer can mean different things to different people. Perhaps you might support a relative or a friend from time to time or be responsible for providing care for an adult at home for most of every week. Capital Carers are there to help you as you support the person you care for and to make sure you are ok and also have time for yourself. Supports include weekly groups, one to one support and sometimes options in your school.
