Construction Works
Following site set up, our contractor Sacyr, Farrans, Neopul's (SFN) role will involve excavation of the road to allow installation of drainage and public realm improvements. Information boards and directional signage will be displayed once the fencing has been erected and the construction site has been established.
The first phase of works is expected to take approximately 13 weeks beginning on Monday 28 June 2021. Site will be established on Elm Row from the kerb to the fence line, encasing the road entrance and parking area.
The second phase will involve public realm improvement works on the Elm Row footway down to Montgomery Street from the east kerb of the parking area to the front of businesses. The parking area within Elm Row will open to pedestrians. These works will be undertaken in sections to maintain access to businesses and will take approximately six weeks.
The final phase of works will include public realm works on the A900 footpath and will take approximately six weeks to complete. Temporary bus stops will be established locally during this phase of works to enable the continuation of Lothian Bus services.
