Notification of Footpath Diversions

We will be making temporary changes to sections of the footpath.

Locations:

  • West side of Constitution Place to Tower Street.
  • East side Constitution Street to Baltic Street.

When? Friday 7 May 2021

In order to allow for the construction of the new tram line and ensure that access is maintained to all pedestrians/cyclists, there are times where we have to temporarily extend our workspace out on to pedestrian foot way.

Duration:  These arrangements are expected to be in place for up to twelve weeks.

What are we doing?

  • The footpath on the west side of Constitution Street (between Constitution Place to Tower Street) is required to close. Temporary arrangements will be in place with a footpath being created on the carriage way.
  • The footpath on the east side of Constitution Place to Baltic Street is required to close. All pedestrians and cyclists will be diverted to the west side of the foot way.

Access to affected business will be maintained at all times.

View the traffic management plan here (PDF).

Pedestrians and cyclists will be diverted around the works using an alternative route. Signage will be installed in the local area to inform pedestrians and cyclists of the diversion and the recommended route.

How will this affect you?

As our works progress we will need to occasionally adjust sections of our site perimeter temporarily which will impact on the space available to pedestrians and cyclists.

We will look to progress works as quickly as possible to ensure that minimal disruption is caused. We ask that all pedestrians and cyclists approach the area with caution and care.
