Newhaven
Work on building the tram route through Newhaven began Spring 2020.
Updates
Soft and hard landscaping, as well as surfacing works are ongoing on Newhaven and Melrose Drive. From week commencing 10 April 2023 we will be installing new streetlights between Hawthornvale and Sandpiper. Temporary traffic management arrangements and pedestrian diversions are in place. In addition, in order to complete lining works on Lindsay Road we will be installing rolling temporary traffic management arrangements in four phases from Monday 17 April 2023 with arrangements expected to remain in place for five days.
A change to pedestrian routes at Melrose Drive/Ocean Drive was made in August 2022 to progress infrastructure works, such as carriageway and footpath works, OLE bases and street lighting. Read more information in our news article.
In addition, the lower link road between Melrose drive and Sandpiper Drive beside Forth Ports docks will close to pedestrians from w/c 17 April 2023. Pedestrians will be diverted to the newly constructed footway on Lindsay Road. This is to accommodate final hard landscaping works in the area.
