Regular activities for children and young people
Wednesday
4.30 to 5.30pm , Chatterbooks reading group for children, fortnightly. A great opportunity for children aged 8 to 12 to discover new books, explore different ways to enjoy reading, and share their enthusiasm and ideas with one another. Join in games and activities relating to books, reading and literacy, and explore what the Library has to offer!
4.30 to 5.30pm, Board Games Group for children, fortnightly. Play board games together and discover new ones, for children aged 8 to 12.
6.30 to 7.30pm, Teen Board Games (for S1 – S6), fortnightly.
Saturday
11 to midday, Lego Club for ages 6 and up
All week
Activities and puzzles are always available throughout our opening hours, please speak to staff.
Monday
6.30 to 7.30pm, Colouring in group. Help relieve stress and encourage mindfulness at the start of the week.
Tuesday
11.30am to 12.30pm, Cosy Corner Coffee Morning: join us for a hot drink, friendly chat, activities and games.
Wednesday
6.30 to 7.30pm, Board Games Group for adults, fortnightly
Friday
2 to 4pm, Knit and Natter, bring along your woolly creations and join us for quality time over refreshments and friendly chat.

6.30pm, Fantasy Book Group for adults meets on the last Wednesday of the month.

Sighthill Library is located inside Gate 55 Community Centre. Calderglen Nursery School is next door. Nearby shops and services are Sighthill Bowling Club, Sighthill Shopping Centre and Sighthill Health Centre. Nearby Churches are St. Nicholas Parish Church and St. John Ogilvie. Local schools are Sighthill Primary, Murrayburn Primary and Wester Hailes High School. We are near to Edinburgh College (Sighthill Campus) and Edinburgh Napier University. Our neighbouring communities include The Calders, Broomhouse, Parkhead and Wester Hailes.
