Control of Dogs (Scotland) Act 2010
The main purpose of the act is to promote knowledge of the duties and responsibility involved in owning a dog.
The act aims to highlight the duties of owners of out of control dogs at an early stage and provide details and help needed to change the behaviour of the dog and the owner before the dog becomes dangerous.
These steps are vital in helping reduce the number of attacks by dogs of all breeds.
Dangerous dogs
All dangerous dogs should be reported to Police Scotland on
101.
