Start Scotland 

This flexible employment support service is a partnership between  and Fedcap Scotland helping to make a difference and create positive futures for people, their families and their communities as part of the Scottish Government’s Fair Start Scotland programme

This service supports unemployed people, who may have a disability or health issues, back into sustainable employment.

By joining the service, you will get a tailored support package to help you find a job that meets your skills, a dedicated personal adviser, access to training and specialist support to help you manage your health and wellbeing and much more.

Enable Works

Support for parents and carers with responsibility for a person with a disability.

The service can support you to manage your caring responsibilities and to:

  • Find a suitable job or progress in your current job in a sector you want to work in
  • Gain flexible working conditions that support your caring needs
  • Gain accredited training to help you progress in your career
  • Access welfare advice to maximise your household income
  • Access suitable childcare options and gain access to carer support networks
  • Access specialist support agencies to support your health and wellbeing as a carer

Job Start Payment

You can apply for Job Start Payment to help you with the costs of starting a new job. You can apply if you're a young person aged 16 to 24 or care leaver aged 16 to 25 who's been out of work and on certain benefits. You can get a one off payment of £267.65 or £428.25 if you’re the main carer of any children.
