Planning has been approved for the former Silverlea Care home site on Muirhouse Parkway to deliver

  • around 140 new social and mid-market rent homes
  • new facilities for Craigroyston Community Football Club adjacent to the current sports pitches.  

The homes will be net zero carbon and energy efficient. The development will also include upgrading the main path linking Salveson Crescent and Marine Drive to create safer, easier access to the shoreline.

A separate planning application for Craigroyston Community Youth Football Club has been developed in collaboration with the club. The new proposed site is to the rear of the caravan park on Marine Drive, where the club will have their facilities adjacent to the pitches and vehicle access will be from Marine Drive. This solution was developed to

  • reduce parking around the housing in Salvesen
  • provide facilities for the club closer to their pitches while minimising the impact on the green belt.
